Downtown New Canaan will once again become a virtual art gallery for 14 days in May as 38 member artists of the Carriage Barn Arts Center display their artwork in the windows of 37 stores in town. On display from May 10 through May 23, the fourth annual “Art in the Windows” exhibition will include watercolor, oil, and acrylic paintings, as well as photography, prints, and sculpture in a range of styles by artists from New Canaan, Stamford, Norwalk, Darien, Old Greenwich, Weston, and Wilton. The shops participating in “Art in the Windows” are located within easy walking distance of one another in town on Elm, Main, Park, and Forest Streets, Morse Court and South Avenue. All work exhibited will be available for purchase and the artists will donate 50% of sale proceeds to the non-profit Carriage Barn Arts Center. Sales will be on a “cash and carry” basis. Purchases can be made by credit card (Visa or MasterCard) as well as by cash or check. On Saturday, May 15th a dozen or more of the exhibiting artists will be working “en plein air” throughout the day in front of the shops displaying their artwork.
